This lake is a truly special place. Just magical. And hidden. Unless you know where to look, you won't see it! The upper bay (where our house is located) is a deep (155 ft.) basin, yet warm for swimming. The upper bay is connected via the narrows to a broad, shallow (10 ft.) lower bay.
Kezar Lake's water is crystal clear and suitable for swimming, boating, and fishing. While much of the shore at Westways is rocky, there is a small sandy swimming area perfect for younger children. The older ones will enjoy swimming from the dock to the swim platform.
The 2,500 acre lake is 7 miles long and you can boat the length of it. A marina is located at the narrows and offers power boat rentals along with canoes and kayaks (though we have a canoe and two kayaks available for your use). There's also a restaurant and ice cream stand at the marina. Due to it's lightly developed shoreline, wildlife abounds...moose, deer, and loons frequent the area.
"...Kezar Lake is--by virtue of its clean, deep waters, its mountainous prospects, its varied shoreline, its own intimate,
secluded nature, and the unobtrusive nature of its settlement--a picture book lake of the first order."
--Edgar Allen Beem, A Kezar Lake Summer, Maine Times
